au revoir 2008

it has been a blissful journey so far. i was kept busy with at home, work, family & friends. i do need a getaway soon. so far, no major travels done this year as i was preparing for the big day last august (normally i would be gone in august).

i could list done these things to do come 2009:
a) more weddings
b) more music festivals
c) at least a travel out before march
d) giving birth to little joey
e) time to look for greener pastures by then, i hope

i am currently in love with lil tykes clothings...crazy abt them and at the same time watching my pocket.
i guess its common, haha!

blissfully over

the series of events that took place recently is now over.
all are slowly being put back in place.

it is wonderful, yes, it is.

the lifespan

my brain is still working at this wee hours so i might as well pen a bit.
i am counting down. really!
it's coming. the time is coming.
things are all lined-up in the manner that i've always wanted.

feeling numb right now.
as half of my bodynsoul is committed to a series of major events at work while the other half is for the big-day.
i couldnt believe that im getting hitched soon, real soon.

mum was busy flipping through the bridal mags to choose the design for my 'solemnisation' outfit and planted a few designs before she went to sleep. later in the evening, we gonna have 'melayukan dia' where makankakis are going potluck + gathering @jjay's place for dinner.

i hope to hear good news from him. yes, the stuff for my damages are in too!

come as you go

this is my perpetual problem.
one moment i was into penning the events, another moment it died off.
of late, i'd been to the movies like what/happens/in/vegas & cong/kak.
the latter was of a disappointment balls!
the sound effects just works...but aint the storyline.

i was busybee since april, alot of outings, eatings, playing host to haris + leila who were in town.
i became a good domestic tourist too by going to the zoo, hopping on cable-car ride.
the pair flew in from stocktown...oh well, i miss skarholmen, skansen and to name a few, including the moose meat/balls.
i was busybee this month, more bad traits of online spree, outings, eatings and sleeping.
the nite-out with the makankakis yesterday was great followed by coffee before french/movie invasion.

im counting down.
its tiring though.

sue was kind enuff to invite some of us to a movie preview.
lido was the venue and street kings was the title.
the movie is a yet another expected policeman kindofstoryline thingy.
the hero, gone were my heydays when he used to star in speed part uno & deus.


post-movie, we headed to badoque for a late dinner with the boy & the rest of the movie-goers.
what's girls without a gossip moment.

the long work week has soon ended, and more work upcoming.
and did i mentioned that i was going to the zoo.
yea, i did. i havent place my foot in the local zoological park for more than 15years and it has changed much, drastically.
it was a dream come true using mum's corporate member and no more an excuse to postpone the much-sought visit after-all.
armed with caps, brollies and ponchos, it was like a day-care outing.
the rain didnt dampen our spirits too. that's the domestic spirit for me for this month!

spice girls nite

another dinner last saturday with the makankakis.
the weekend was deliberately done in such a way that we were all dressed formally, dinner and karaOke to follow suit.
knowing us and the last minute changes, only the dinner outline was followed closely.
from pastas (had to wait for more than half an hour since its a weekend) to coffee + dessert and lastly the unplanned ghost-hunting expedition for the remaining troopers. the expedition included most of the 'haunted' places in the far east & nothern sg.

cant wait for the next one!

saturday fever

i'd really a good nite sleep today and now totally re:charged.
lunch included clams, i cant remembered when i last had those.
its just a few hours before meeting the makankakis.
i really have a bad coordination when it comes to a 'theme' event.
i'd took out the necessary clothings to mixnmatch for this evening's event.
but its ok, as overall im always fickle-minded, i might change my mind again in the eleventh hour.

i was hit by a shocking news from a colleague this morning.
we’d seen that coming but not at this time round.
as much I held back my tears, it just came out naturally everytime.
losing someone good is pretty hard and life still carry on for the rest of us.

i’m ready to spice up my life.
the excitement of meeting up the rest of makankakis tomorrow plus gossip sessions, endless yo.

comeback kid

i am getting back the vibe, so let's pray its for long.
where have i been missing all this while?
i'd been caught up with my work, family, friends, butterfly girls, makankakis, weddings, etc.
it's pretty well-balanced now, i must say.
i should jolly well be before i start to race my life again.

let's do a quick update on my missing by months!

october:
turned a year older just a few days before eid.
celebrated at home with my family during eid.
celebrated at french cafe, little india with 2 other bday babies, together with makankakis + him.
celebrated at fignolive, vivo with 2 other bday babies, together with hangout buddies.
so there, 3 times of celebration.

december:
designfest. i was totally immersing my heart.bodynsoul. cant blame me!
della's wedding.
roadtrip to kl with the family during the week just before xmas.
mum + aunt went frenzy over the cake stuff in the baking shop near our hotel in bangi.
sg should have something like that.
new yr's eve, roaming around sg. fireworks.

january:
new yr, roaming around sg part 2.
roy's wedding.
nad's wedding. wedding of the year.
i love the music entourage that followed suit during the dinner.
icha in sg. met up with her over supper with him.
domestic tourist part 1. hopped on to duck n hippo tour.

february:
re:visited my alma mater during open house, uber-cool bldg + glass structures.
flew off to jkt with the concert groupies/makankakis/travelbuddies.
main reason is to see bjork in action.
we csED over @farah's place in mega kuningan, while the other half crashed in hotel.
'til today, i still get goosebumps thinking of the time we had while in senayan indoor.
like a dream come true.
afterwhich met up with the indo counterparts for endless sessions of makans. thanks to icha + kiki.
we visited blok m too :P! thanks to cipta.
domestic tourist part 2. i finally took the dhl ride and giddiness engulfed me.

march:
mar's wedding.
adam in sg. brought him out with ninda.
thanks to mosaic fest, we became broke.
learnt our lessons, in future need to start saving earlier.

the makankakis at porta-porta + badoque.

oh, it gets more jittery now as i'm counting down. a love-hate relationship.

unexpectedly!

i came to realise that my weekends came to a point that...
TIME will passed by so fast!!
gone is saturday but it was great to be able to have late supper in jb and getting home in the wee hours.
i love my buys too...another aviator plus audreyhep's dress...that i grabbed in the flea market.

earlier on, went to gay-lang, in search of ready-made kebayas but its such a wasted trip...
why not, those on sold from NO brand NOR unheard labels are freaking ex.
i wouldnt mind paying if it bears labels by marc jabs but sadly no.

so, me & nana didnt buy any...
it was frustrating...and i turned my attention to cushions, velvety kind and cheap.
i was also eyeing on a velvety curtain...it was an import material...perhaps for the coming event...

alrite...i wont talk about mondays.
who on earth loves the first day of the week.

it was also an eyesore moment. more people are not respecting this sacred month.

ok, at least i do not need to queue that long.
i couldnt snap the pics coz its all dunked before photography.

im on two days sick leave.

of fish & stuff

two nites ago, we had a food galore or rather an overdose of fish at a famous junk.
thanks to hadi's fren, we ate to our fill til we were all bloated.
as always, the seafood platter plus other dishes served.

i couldnt imagine eating fish/seafood for the next few days.
but, im lying.
ill be joining the girls for buffet-style dinner this evening.
hahahahah.

but its not the end.
i predict two more food invitations next week.
not only serious damage to my pocket but alas to my tummy.

post-japon

im pretty much still in my japon mood.
its good that yany's been discharged from hospital & tini's recovering at home.
i am the only 'sole survivor' from the trip, still feeling fatigue though.
i like the strange feeling one had the moment you entered your home after not going back for weeks/years.
i thought i was disillusioned at that time.
work is catching up again with me.

yesterday, we had much fun @womad! this marks the last concerts/festivals for august.
and a/s/i/a/n/d/u/b/f/o/u/n/d/a/t/i/o/n set rocked the whole fort and there was this band from welsh...it sounded more like the/corrs (they are out with a new album) before adf's performance.
gimme drumnbass anytime...its sheer fun to catch up with friends too.
chilling on the greenery and seeing more familiar faces...adds to a rocking friday nite.
i cant remember this is my how many times attending womad.
these womad-goers headed for supper @simpang to end the day.




this month, ive been busy too...with alot of good buys, good price.

pre-trip concert = the cure. we were all slacking and the vibe only runs in-between the 3hrs long concert.
at times, i could feel sleepy but when "friday, im in love" came on air thru mr smith's vocal..it was the most appreciated piece of music.
nonetheless, we did enjoyed the nite.

post-trip concert = gwen stefani. she rocked the house yesterday. im very much in love with her plus the chance to be a 'groupie' post concert with the kids and she came to us, yeah we were that close...she's the bomb! love her costumes, her dancers, her songs. thanks! i took medical leave due to jet-lagged but seeing her energised vibe onstage, i totally forgotten that im not that strong. i almost lost my voice this morning due to over-excess of shouting during concert. cant blame me...the boys started it first and poor yany who is hospitalised back from japon trip and was supposed to see gwen had to forgo her tix.

and those are some of my vices, pre-deserved hard-earned cash. the trip to japon, i wished that ive stayed there longer.
surviving thru the almost 8hrs flight to & fro, lotsa walking, tiredness but when it comes to shopping, we totally forgotten the tired feet.
summer was a killer. its hotter than rome and its biting thru our skins. its was hotter than sg no doubt there's wind but i could feel the unbearable heat.
we became tanned easily and the makcik @my workplace spotted my dark rings this morning.
i tend to wake pretty early as its bright at 4am (jpn time) and we are quite disciplined to follow our schedule everyday.
we covered tokyo, hakone, osaka, kyoto and back to tokyo. the only setback wasnt able to carry on to nara as we are short of time.
shinkansen, is pretty fast too, cant beat eurorail as per my last euro trips.

we pretty much controlled our expenses and went crazy over japon brands.
stores like daiso, muji and uniqlo (japanese version of GAP) prices are quite a steal.
and oh, i love shibuya for loft, not much of tokyu hands.
got myself sister holga, yet to experiment with it.

so, im back in sg all broke. not broken-hearted.
and of course, more tonnes of work.
i need a vacation again!

my yellow wayfarer broke in tokyo...im only left with not more than 200yen...and i got my slate leggings.

aint no sunshine

im gonna get a copy of this movie reel soon. a good show i must say. funny @times too.

meantime, i was having lunch earlier + watching the world news. then, a sudden reminiscene came boggling thru my mind. looking back, i was actually in some kind of "risk" travelling to the affected areas for the past travels.

::bintan 2004::

my friends (shiela, yany, mar, rina) + i were out in the open sea enjoying the high tides. just as we got back to land into our cabanas, we saw the news via cna on t/s/u/n/a/m/i @aceh. our families were worried of course, we called home to inform that we were not affected @all.

::london 2005::

we had a hard time in s/t/a/n/s/t/e/d although we had to transit before moving on to mallorca via london. the main reason, both yany + me were questioned about half an hour separately on our travels before we were asked to go to another corner + that our names didnt help bearing the "binte". from the corner of my eyes, i could see stares coming from people who were queing under the same line as us. i am still very sore with the immigration officer but the policeman was kinda nice to me. it was really an experience. while in london, we took the tube around the city a month after the l/o/n/d/o/n/b/o/m/b/i/n/g. the affected stations were closed but we kept vigil thru the news in every station as we are affected and had to change routes each single day we were there. it was then that i knew why the death toll was high as the escape route was way far off.

::bangkok 2006::

my family + i still went ahead with the travel. mum was a bit sceptical but i assured the rest that it's alright still to travel + not to follow the hundreds of fellow natives who cancelled their flight due to the bombing near the hearts in the city due to protest of e/l/e/c/t/i/o/n. thanks to updates from thai friends too.

::london 2006::

we watched the news on our last day in paris before travelling out to barcelona whilst rina + tini made their way to london and that h/e/a/t/h/r/o/w was the place that they gonna be in when their trip ended before continuing to another city. i kept praying that both of them would be safe + i was glad. the only setback, security was tight so any electronic + liquid stuff to be sealed + placed in cargo. they were fortunate not to miss their flight; tini to stockholm to meet us whilst rina back to the lion city.

its all good

i finally get to enjoy the holiday with the goodvib last evening although my feet are still aching from last nite. it was drizzling when we arrived but being patience paid off coz the rain finally stopped before w.a.b's performance. by then the fort was filled with numerous people from all over the world, at least. met with old + new friends...even some whom we wont want to meet too. it was nice to catch up old times again. the first few acts kinda bore me til the next few international acts came onstage.

i was already in high spirits when we went over to where m/a/d/m/a/t/s + s/p/i/r/i/t/u/a/l/s/o/u/t/h were spinning. the last time we met + spoke to mads was like in summer 2005. the ultimatum >>drum + bass. yany was like saying, "drum+bass', anne's fav. naik hantu lar dia nanti". i replied by saying, "semamangnyer kita semualar hantu2nyer". everyone had fun, laughter, there's even a dancefloor but we were contented on the wet grounds instead. after the session, thirst engulfed us + while buying drinks, my eyes chanced upon an ex-colleague. a hi to her and she was like, "ah, u looked drenched, having fun ey?"...i was like but of coz...its the giant who's spinning. in fact, the seven of us were drenched during the session. there was like a stale of air too.

but, the finale of the grand finale are by j/u/r/a/s/s/i/c/f/i/v/e + b/e/a/s/t/i/e/b/o/y/s. it did start to drizzle again @midnite but stopped the moment the music started. they rocked. their the giant. i am looking forward to next year's then.

argh, back to work tomorrow.

yeah, i got a week to go before saying my goodbyes + welcome the new one.

i hate farewell.
